Basketball club Dubrovnik was founded at the end of 1946. At the time it was called Jug. The 60s of the last century marked the beginning of the growth and popularity of basketball and basketball became popular in Dubrovnik, but Jug experienced its star moments in the period from 1972 until 1981. The club’s golden decade culminated in placement in the First B League, followed by stagnation, and at the end of the eighties, renewed growth that was interrupted by the war, followed by the fulfillment of a dream – placement in the First Croatian Basketball League.
