Adopting Common Environmental Friendly Equipment For All by Association of Adapted Sports & Recreation Activities “KINITIKO ERGASTIRI” and All 5 Local Collaborated Sport Clubs in Greece

A pilot initiative by all five collaborating sports clubs of the C ZERO NETWORK in Greece aims to introduce athletes to the concept of adopting environmentally friendly practices in their daily training routines. Conducting this initiative simultaneously across multiple locations we significantly amplified its impact. To achieve our goal, we organized a coordinated giveaway of promotional materials, including 1) reusable hydration bottles made from recycled materials and 2) sustainable swimming caps.
Number of Participants: Approximately 50 athletes with disabilities (physical and intellectual)
Aim of the Activity:The activity aimed to promote eco-friendly practices to vulnerable segments of the local population, such as athletes with disabilities. The C ZERO NETWORK project highlighted practices like reusing hydration bottles made from sustainable materials in daily training sessions.
Activities and Highlights: Participants learned about the importance of using sustainable products and how small changes, like reusing bottles, can contribute to environmental conservation. The simultaneous distribution of these bottles across multiple sports clubs highlighted the collective impact of adopting eco-friendly practices.
Environmental Awareness:The event successfully raised awareness about the significance of introducing the REUSE philosophy to persons with disabilities. It stood out that the reduction of buying new plastic bottles is a collective responsibility that all can contribute by taking small actions in daily routines
Community Engagement:The activity highlighted the active role that persons with disabilities can play in environmental conservation. Both the staff of the environmental park but also the visitors were inspired by the initiative of the local sports club for persons with disability to take action in favor of the environment.
